In April, I joined the YMCA and started consistently working out at least 3 times a week. It was rough going in the beginning because Maxwell wouldn't let me work out for too long. But I stuck with it and I am still going to workout every single week, at least 3 times each week. Here is a picture of what I've gone through.
On 4/11, I was 199 pounds. My last measurement day on 12/22, I was 185 pounds. That's 14 pounds in 8 months. Here is a chart of how my body has changed.
waist | 40.5 | 37.5 |
hips | 46.75 | 44 |
arms | 13.5 | 12.5 |
thighs | 26 | 21 |
chest | 43.75 | 39.5 |
It has been slow going, basically only losing 1 1/2 a month, and I haven't changed clothing size yet. I'm still stuck in size 16, but I the numbers don't lie. There is progress, even if I don't feel it. I will keep at it (starting with a boot camp workout tomorrow).
My husband says I don't do a lot. I'm not truly hardcore with a workout every day. I do 1 day of just cardio. I do 1 day of body weight training. I do 1 day of a mix of the two. But, for me, this is what I have time to do (with 2 kids and a household to take care of). I will keep it going. I am not weak and I will reach my goals! I hope you will too!
Well, I thought I posted something but I can't tell cause it looks like I didn't. Long story short.. KEEP IT UP! I am also getting back on track and when you have kids, anything you can do is great! I am getting back to my DVD here at home and watching what I eat. What's your goal? I want to lose 20 by my birthday in June. Wish me luck and I will be there for you too :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck, AnnMarie! But don't set too high of a goal. Losing weight too fast is not good for you and you usually end up bouncing right back. 20 pounds in 6 months is pretty tough. My goal is to be healthy and happy. I don't really have a weight goal. I just want to feel good and look good.
DeleteSince you r talking about it, I want to say you look great. I hear you on the kid issues. Girls love the kid activities but Anderson is having issues so I have been trying to do the classes while he sleeps at home. Challenging! Nevertheless, the key for me is consistency and making it a permanent change. It's better to do a nice, slow pace than a roller coaster. I joined the Y in May & go citywide but had that surgery that took me out for the majority of the summer. However I went back late August and I'm happy I've made some progress. 15 pounds down and my next goal is another 15 pounds. If interested, come join me for David's Zumba class at Thousand Oaks. I credit those classes. They're fun classes, time flies by and I sweat like crazy. Keep up the great work!!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! It's tough with the kids, but you have to keep pushing through it. And, I know how surgery can set you back. I'm glad you were able to get back to it. You are doing great! What time and day is the Zumba class?
